Juazeiro do Norte, Brazil - March 2016 - March 27 marked the 12th anniversary of the foundation of "FM Padre Cícero", a Salesian educational radio station, located in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, with a broad customer base in the region of Cariri. The station was founded by Fr Luiz Sampaio do Rego, SDB, and belongs to the "Fundação Educational Salesian Pe. Cícero ". The radio is designed to educate and evangelize. It can also be heard on the internet at www.radiopadrecicero.com and - for devices running the Android system – on the app "Rádio Padre Cícero".
Johannesburg, South Africa - April 2016 - Every weekend about forty young people from the Booysens area are welcomed into the community of the Salesian Vice-Province of Southern Africa (AFM), for recreational activities, prayer and an introduction to the spiritual life.
Plitvice Lakes, Croatia - April 2016 - The 16th Chapter of the Province of Croatia took place from 4 to 6 April at the new Salesian House at Plitvice Lakes. The Provincial Fr Pejo Orkic presided and the Moderator was Fr Mihovil Kurkut.
Venice, Italy - April 2016 - On 10 April more than 12,000 people took part in the traditional Solidarity Walk "Up and Down the Bridges", through the streets and squares of Venice, on behalf of the Salesian mission in Damascus, Syria, which is at the centre of the humanitarian project for the year 2016. This great day of celebration and solidarity was started by the Salesian Fr Dino Berti and organized by the Salesian TGS Eurogroup in collaboration with the Municipality of Venice and is promoted by the Salesian Province of San Marco in North Eastern Italy.
