(ANS - Rome) - From Monday 9 May, the anniversary of the birth of Mother Mazzarello, the Studies Centre of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) at the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences at "Auxilium" in Rome is available online. As well as giving information on the activities of the FMA Study Centre, the site aims to be a service and a research and documentation space where the FMA, Past Pupils, Salesians and Salesian Family members and those who are interested in the female dimension of the Salesian educative spirituality can refer to contributions on the history, pedagogy and spirituality of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians from the origins (1872) to today.
We know that a 'Rule of Life' is common to religious communities, with roots going back to Benedict and other 'Greats'. But a 'Rule' might still be off-putting for some today, so it was an inspired little touch to come out with “A Salesian Way of Life”, and as the author, Fr David O'Malley, describes it, not far into this brief but profound and inviting invitation to 'be Salesian' whoever you are, whatever gender, faith background ...
(ANS - Córdoba) - It seems that Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, never gets tired. His journeying from one community to another creates a sense of closeness, friendship, but above all fatherliness. His mission as Rector Major invites us to look at life from the perspectives of hope, of love for young people, and hospitality for the homeless. Young people have come out in their hundreds to hear him speak, to hear the words of the tenth successor of Don Bosco.
