Sunday morning was reserved for the elderly Salesians, the Blessed Bartolomé Blanco community and the Salesian Social Platforms of Andalusia, Canary Islands and Extremadura. Then he celebrated Mass with the Salesian Family, surrounded by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Salesian Cooperators, members of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), Past Pupils and members of the "Hogares Don Bosco." For each group he had a fatherly word. He invited them to increase in number, but especially to grow in their Salesian identity. "We should be living forces of the Church, with wide open doors to welcome all types of people,” he said. “Our house is a home for all."
In the afternoon, at the Salesian House of Cordoba, he met with about 300 young people and teachers. The testimonies of many of those present left everyone moved and the Rector Major replied with words of encouragement and affection.
On Monday Fr Á.F. Artime visited the Salesian Institute of Antequera. He was welcomed by the Rector, Fr Miguel Montes, and the diocesan archpriest, Fr Antonio Fernández. Rain prevented him from staying in the yard, so the students welcomed him joyfully indoors. His presence gave an opportunity to present him with the “Picture of the Dream”, a canvas donated by dr. José Rodríguez to raise funds for this special centre at the Salesian House. The successor of Don Bosco said he was happy to see that Antequera is a new Valdocco, in the best style of Don Bosco.
