01 - Podgorica, Montenegro - June 2018 - On 2 and 3 June, Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime visited the Salesian presence in Podgorica where he met, in addition to the Salesians, numerous children, young people and adults of many nationalities, cultures and religions.
02 - Rome, Italy - June 2018 - From 8 to 10 June, the Team Visit of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and several members of the General Council, took place at the "Maria Sede della Sapienza" Vice Province. The event also involved 40 Salesians who work in the cultural and pastoral mission of the Salesian Pontifical University.
03 - Rome, Italy - 8 June 2018 - On 8 June, the Salesian Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, celebrated the Mass of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Rome for the first time, together with Salesians of the "San Giuseppe" community, of the Salesian Central Office, to lay people working in the Dicasteries and to the community of the Salesian Circumscription of Central Italy.
04 - Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - June 2018 - How is it possible to inculturate the Salesian charism in the traditions and societies of Melanesia? This was the question around which seven Salesians from the Papua New Guinea-Solomon Islands (PGS) gathered from 27 to 30 June, accompanied by their Provincial, Fr Alfred Maravilla. 14 young aspirants joined them on the last day.
05 - Escuintla, Guatemala - June 2018 - After the eruption of the Fuego volcano on 3 June, the Salesian parish "San Juan Bosco" started a fundraising campaign. The Youth Ministry students collected medicines and various items and the youth center opened and housed a collection point. In the Mesoamerican Salesian University, the University Pastoral was responsible for the collection, organization and distribution of all the contributions received.
06 - Ahmednagar, India - June 2018 - Among the various activities to achieve a sustainable economy, the "Don Bosco Development Society" has inaugurated the "Rural Biogas Project", assisted by "Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra" and "Van Amerigen Foundation" . The project will benefit 30 poor farmers from 5 villages in the district of Ahmednagar, State of Maharashtra, wwhere they will be able to start organic farming in their fields.
07 - Juba, South Sudan - June 2018 - 74 elementary schools built, almost 15,000 children included in the educational cycle, countless families and communities benefited: these are some of the numbers of the project launched in 2012 by the Salesian Missionary Office "Don Bosco Nanum" in Seoul, South Korea, for the construction of schools in the rural areas of South Sudan.
08 - Sarandí del Yí, Uruguay - June 2018 - "If we meet we are happy" was the theme of the National Meeting of Adolescents of the Salesian Youth Movement of Uruguay, which gathered around 800 participants at the Institute Benigno Paiva Irisarri on 9 June. This year it celebrates its 50th anniversary and provides assistance to around 60 rural .
