Ancona, Italy -- October 2024 -- At the beginning of October, the Salesians of the "San Luigi" community, part of the Central Italy Circumscription (ICC), celebrated the 125th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone. The three-day celebration involved the educational-pastoral community and the local citizens, culminating on October 6 with the visit of the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr. Stefano Martoglio.
03. New York, USA -- October 2024 -- The highly anticipated Grand Finale of the 3rd edition of the "Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival" (DBGYFF) took place in grand style on Friday, October 18, at the "Loreto Theatre" in the "Sheen Center" in New York. The event marked the fitting conclusion of a short film festival that brought together thousands of young filmmakers from around the world.
04. Pordenone, Italy -- October 2024 -- On October 19, the centenary of the founding of the "Don Bosco College" was celebrated in the presence of the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr. Stefano Martoglio. The institution, a pillar of education and social commitment, opened its doors for a day of celebration and reflection, marking a century of dedication to youth formation and the community.
05. Bangalore, India -- October 2024 -- The General Councillor for Social Communication, Fr. Gildasio Mendes, as part of the Extraordinary Visit to the Salesian Province of India-Bangalore (INK), visited the "Kristu Jyoti College" from October 16 to 26.
06. Bangkok, Thailand -- October 2024 -- On Sunday, October 6, Fr. Joseph Nguyen Thinh Phuoc, Councillor for the East Asia-Oceania Salesian Region, arrived in Thailand to begin the Extraordinary Visit to the "St. Paul" Province of Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos (THA), scheduled to last until November 30.
07. Athens, Greece -- October 2024 -- The new Salesian presence in Greece officially began on October 6, 2024, with a Eucharist presided over by Fr. Alfred Maravilla, General Councillor for Missions, in the chapel of the Marist Brothers' residence in Athens.
08. Turin, Italy -- October 2024 -- From October 2 to 6, the Extraordinary World General Assembly of the Don Bosco Alumni was held in Valdocco, on the theme "Walking Together: Changing to Continue." The event brought together around 200 participants from five continents.
