01. Turin, Italy – September 2024 – On 29 September in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin-Valdocco, Fr Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major, presided over the Eucharist of the 155th Salesian Missionary Expedition,in the presence of Mother Chiara Cazzuola, Superior General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
02. Fatima, Portugal – September 2024 – The 9th International Congress of Mary Help of Christians concluded on 1 September, bringing together more than 1,300 participants from over 44 countries, including priests, men and women religious and lay people. The concluding Eucharist was presided over by the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio.
03. Bratislava, Slovakia – September 2024 - The Slovak Salesian Family celebrated the centenary of the presence of the Salesians in the Country (1924-2024) from 6 to 8 September. The event was enriched by the presence of the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio, the Councillor for the Central and North Europe Region, Fr Roman Jakimowicz, and a number of Provincials from neighbouring countries.
04. Aparecida, Brazil – September 2024 – The Continental Meeting of Salesian Works and Social Services of America took place from 9 to 13 September. The event was also attended by the members of the General Council: Fr Miguel Ángel García Morcuende (Youth Ministry) Fr Hugo Orozco (Interamerica) and Fr Gabriel Romero (America South Cone).
05. Coacalco, Mexico – September 2024 – As part of their respective Animation Visits to the country, on 17 September, Fr Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major, and Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councillor for Formation, visited the interprovincial Sacred Heart of Jesus Novitiate in Coacalco, Mexico.
06. Purwodadi, Indonesia – September 2024 – The opening ceremony for a new Salesian residence and college in Purwodadi, on the island of Java, took place on 24 September. The event was chaired by the Superior of the Indonesian Vice-Province (INA), Fr Vincentius Prastowo.
07. Itacoatiara, Brazil – September 2024 – On 21 September Cardinal Leonardo Ulrich Steiner, OFM, Archbishop of Manaus, presided over the Eucharist for the beginning of the pastoral ministry of Bishop Edmilson Tadeu Canavarros dos Santos, SDB, as Bishop of the Itacoatiara Prelature. The service was attended by numerous Bishops and Salesians, including Fr Gabriel Romero, Regional Councillor for America South Cone.
08. Iju-Lagos, Nigeria – September 2024 – On Sunday 8 September, for the first time in Nigeria, the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians jointly celebrated the perpetual profession of two of their members: Cecilia Chidimma Anadi and Dioudonne de Marie Mulongoy. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Gianni Rolandi, during the Extraordinary Visitation to the Africa Nigeria Niger (ANN) Province.
