01. Palabek, Uganda – May 2024 – From Sunday 5 to Tuesday 7 May 2024, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, made an animation visit to Uganda, in particular to the Palabek refugee camp.
02. Fatima, Portugal – May 2024 - The 72nd National Pilgrimage of the Salesian Family to Fatima began in the Chapel of the Apparitions of the Shrine with a first greeting to Our Lady. In the presence of the Rector Major of the Salesians, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, the Salesian Family renewed its devotion to Mary, Mother of the Church, Teacher of St John Bosco and guide for the Salesian Congregation.
03. Ljubljana-Rakovnik, Slovenia – May 2024 – On 25 May, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime presided over the celebrations for the Centenary of the Consecration of the shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Rakovnik, Ljubljana. During the day the Rector Major blessed the restored church, presided over the installation of the new Provincial, Fr Peter Končan, blessed the new statue of Don Bosco and met the Salesian Family and the Friends of Don Bosco in Slovenia.
04. Goma, DR Congo – May 2024 – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, arrived in Goma on 9 May accompanied by Fr Alphonse Owoudou, Regional Councillor for Africa-Madagascar. He was welcomed by Fr Guillermo Basañes, Superior of the AFC Province and by a delegation of civil, ecclesiastical and Salesian authorities.
05. Rome, Italy – May 2024 - The annual formation course for newly appointed Provincial Economers was held from 6 to 10 May at the facilities of the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome, led by the Economer General Bro. Jean Paul Muller and members of his team.
06. Warsaw, Poland – May 2024 – A meeting of the Superiors of the Circumscriptions of Central and Northern Europe was held from 9 to 12 May, chaired by the Regional Councillor, Fr Roman Jachimowicz. Addressing them were Fr Gildasio Mendes, General Councillor for Social Communication; Fr Guido Garino, Secretary of the General Council; Fr Michal Vojtàš, Professor and Vice-Rector of the UPS in Rome; and Fr Maciej Makuła from the Social Communication Sector.
07. Turin, Italy – May 2024 - Turin) – Fr Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major, presided over the Eucharistic celebration in honour of Mary Help of Christians on 24 May in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco.
08. Guadalajara, Mexico – May 2024 - The 5th ESA Continental Meeting was held from 1 to 5 May at the Salesian Anáhuac Chapalita Institute, as part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Salesian School in America. The theme was: "Together for the present and the future of Salesian education".
