01. Rome, Italy – April 2024 - On 20 April in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Cardinal Emil Paul Tscherrig, Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus in Italy and San Marino, together with Cardinal Cristóbal López Romero, SDB, Archbishop of Rabat, and Bishop Lucas Van Looy, SDB, Bishop Emeritus of Gent, conferred Episcopal Ordination on Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major and Titular Archbishop-elect of Ursona, and Bishop Giordano Piccinotti, Titular Archbishop-elect of Gradisca and President of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See.
02. Valencia – The Rector Major of the Salesians, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, led an entire weekend of celebration in Valencia (26-28 April 2024), on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the St Anthony Abbot work there.
03. Palabek, Uganda – April 2024 – The Councillor for the Africa-Madagascar Region, Fr Alphonse Owoudou, made an Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian community of Palabek, San Kizito, in the refugee camp.
04. Antananarivo, Madagascar – April 2024 - From 9 to 11 April, the General Councillor for Social Communication, Fr Gildasio Mendes, was engaged in an Animation Visit to the Mary Immaculate Vice-Province Centre of Madagascar and Mauritius (MDG).
05. Lviv, Ukraine – April 2024 - From 1 to 7 April, a delegation from the Missioni Don Bosco Mission Office in Turin and from the Salesian NGO VIS, visited Ukraine to bring the Salesians, volunteers and the population still under Russian military action closer to each other. Representing the Mission Office were the President, Mr Daniel Antúnez, SDB, and photojournalist Ester Negro; for VIS, the President, Michela Vallarino, Fr Luca Barone, SDB, from the Executive Committee, member of Salesian Headquarters, and workers Alberto Livoni and Riccardo Giannotta.
06. Corumbá, Brazil – April 2024 - The Salesian Santa Teresa Institute in Corumbá celebrated its 125 years of presence and commitment to the pedagogical and social formation of its students on 4 April.
07. Turin, Italy – April 2024 - A meeting of personnel in charge of the prenovitiate from numerous European provinces was held in Valdocco on 22-23 April, led by Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councillor for Formation and members of his team.
08. Manzini, eSwatini – April 2024 – The Day of Salesian Culture was celebrated on 18 April, held at the premises of Salesian High School, Manzini. About 800 young people, prepared by their educators, celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Salesian presence in eSwatini.
