(ANS – New York) – Participating virtually from Ambato, Nelly Mariana Soto Guanolusia from “Fundación Proyecto Salesiano”, Ecuador, presented the organic farming initiative of her commune that addresses the issue of poverty and hunger. She said that this project also integrates the work for children on the street into its overall goals and objectives.
(ANS - Makati City) - The Salesian education leaders in the Basic Education Departments (BED) in the schools of the SDB-FIN Province gathered in the Joy Center of Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati for a whole day of learning, direction setting, and updating last June 21, 2021. Notwithstanding the COVID-19 pandemic, they braved the fear and uncertainty brought by the pandemic and met face-to-face for the first time since March 2020 to share and learn from each other how the basic education landscape was changed by the pandemic and how the Don Bosco schools creatively adjusted to these changes and are continually challenged to adapt to these challenges.
(ANS – Kolkata) – The 12th Asia-Oceania online Regional Congress of Don Bosco Past Pupils marking the 150th anniversary of the World Association of Past Pupils concluded on June 26, 2021. The two-day event focused on Salesian Delegate, Young Past Pupils and Networking. Delegates and members from 23 out of 28 countries of the region participated. First-timers included participants from Bangladesh, Nepal, Mongolia, Solomon Islands and Sri Lanka.
(ANS - Brasilia) - The Salesian Forum for the Global Educational Pact took place online on 17 and 18 June, an event jointly promoted by the Brazil Salesian Network (RSB) Schools and RSB Comunications. The Forum involved educators and students in the commitment to the Global Educational Pact proposed by Pope Francis and renewed their passion for education based on the principles of the new humanism. The event brought together 1,275 students and educators representing 94 RSB schools, as well as special guests and provincial coordinators.
