The seminar was coordinated by Salesian brother Raymond Callo. He concentrated his work on the understanding of the consecrated Salesian identity, which is expressed in the complementarity of the Salesian brother and the Salesian priest. At the center of the reflection were the thoughts of Don Bosco and the Magisterium of the Congregation and of the Church.
The starting point was the experience that each Salesian has carried out as a guide for young people in the process of discernment. Moreover, the factors that were most useful (the good practices) offered to candidates during the phase of discernment for the election of lay Salesian life or priesthood, a process that takes place between the prenovitiate and the novitiate, were taken into consideration.
The process of accompaniment and discernment of candidates was analyzed, in the diversity and complementarity of the environments in which this accompaniment takes place.
The seminar ended by offering some proposals to help discern the vocation of the Salesian brother and of the Salesian priest.
