After the words of welcome from the National President, Mrs. Rheena May R. Lim, the activity began with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by Adoration and prayer of the Rosary. Contemplating the joyful mysteries of the Holy Rosary, ADMA members then prayed for all those affected by the current situation, for physical, spiritual, psychological and economic healing, and for the end of the Coronavirus pandemic.
A video was then screened, recorded before the event, which focused on the theme: "Pastoral accompaniment in this time of pandemic and political crisis". The theme was presented and explained by Msgr. Broderick Soncuaco Pabillo, Auxiliary Bishop of Manila. After listening to this formative speech, the members of ADMA proposed new solutions to continue living the ideals of the Association, also in the context of this "new normal", recognizing the challenges and difficulties that the pandemic entails.
The conference concluded with Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr Crisostomo Magbitang, SDB, ADMA spiritual animator in the North Philippines and Rector of the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians. Furthermore, before the final blessings, all ADMA members renewed their promises.
This year's Congress took place amid many difficulties, not only related to the Coronavirus emergency, but also to typhoon Goni which, in recent weeks, violently struck the Philippines.
“Let us continue to pray,” said ADMA members at the end of the Congress, “so that Mary Help of Christians, our Mother, continues to guide us and always keeps us under her mantle.”
