Córdoba, Spain - 1 December 1901 - In 1901, the Salesian Foundation was erected in the popular neighbourhood of St Lorenzo in Córdoba. The date chosen for the inauguration was the first Sunday of Advent and the ceremony foresaw the religious celebration, in the parish of St Lorenzo, and a party in the new house of the Salesians, started on land that was previously a vegetable garden. To inaugurate the house was the Superior of Salesian houses in Andalusia, Fr Pietro Ricaldone, future Rector Major.
