The Economer General warned against discouragement: sometimes development projects, despite the commitment and dedication of aid workers, face problems and setbacks for the shortage of economic funds, but we must not let this stop us having faith and working to change things.
"Three words illuminate our way: hope, love and faith. Hope refers to the effort we make every day to change and alleviate the suffering of the weakest. Love refers to the young and to the psycho-physical support that we offer them to help them to grow and be fulfilled. Faith refers to Divine Providence that our Lord Jesus will not fail us who are servants of the Church," Bro. Muller said.
In his reflection the Salesian Brother invited the participants to reflect on the role and initiatives of the Province, "through the study and analysis of its activities and mission, reformulating them in an efficient, effective and transparent manner." There must be a commitment by all to translate concepts such as planning, communication and best practices into concrete situations so that in the Congregation, as in a family, no one can ignore the common good but everyone must contribute according to their means.
In this regard the Economer General first of all urged co-workers and individual Salesians to work for growth and development "because the strongest energies for change come from the grassroots of the system”. He also urged them to develop a strong sense of belonging to the Congregation, so that the interests of each individual coincide with the interests of the group.
"It is important to make the transition from an individualist vision to a typical organic vision of a religious structure," Bro. Muller concluded.
