He urged the novices to be simple and remember that their call to Salesian life is one of service and not of prestige. For him, a Salesian's greatest honour is to be at the service of others.
He also encouraged them to absorb the gospel vaues and be radical Salesians and live as light among the young especially the poorest. In his own words, "passion for God and passion for the young, both sides of the same coin, is all that really matters in the life of a Salesian."
In conclusion, there were presentation of gifts and a symbolic coronation of the Rector Major in a traditional Ghanaian "Nana" attire.
