Miguel Ángel Bee Nguema was born in Mokomo, Equatorial Guinea on 13 July 1970. He attended the Salesian Novitiate in Lome, Togo, between 1991 and 1992, and there he made his first profession on 13 August 1992. He made his perpetual profession on 19 September 1998, in Bata, the city where he also received his priestly ordination on 24 July 2000.
He served as Economer (2001-2004) in the community of Pointe-Noire, in the Republic of Congo; Rector of the Vice-Provincial House in Yaounde, Cameroon, (2005-2008) and Director of the Oratory at the Vice-Provincial House (2011-2015). From 2008 to 2010 he was studying at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome.
Fr Nguema Bee speaks six languages. In addition to Fang, the language of his homeland, he also knows Spanish, French, Italian, English and Portuguese. Before being appointed by the Rector Major, in 2015, as Superior of the Vice-Province of ATE, he held other posts: Councillor of the Vice-Province (2004-2008), Youth Ministry Delegate (2004-2008 and 2010-2015), Delegate for Editions Don Bosco (2004-2008) and Vicar of the Vice-Province (2010-2015).
As a result of changes in the geography of the dioceses of Equatorial Guinea, the diocese now entrusted to Fr Nguema Bee is spread over an area of almost 4,000 square kilometres and has a population of about 230,000 people, of whom 158,000 are Catholic. There are 11 parishes with 28 priests - 19 diocesan, 6 religious and 3 from Fidei Donum. In addition, there are 12 male religious and 28 female religious.
