On Wednesday 29 March the focus was primarily on the subject of Salesian reconfiguration. The presentations of two reconfiguration processes that are ongoing in the Provinces of Venezuela and Mexico-Guadalajara were highlighted. The Vicar of the Rector Major, the General Councillor for Social Communication and the General Councillor for the Salesian Missions then spoke.
In the second part of the day the representatives of the different provinces gave an assessment and shared on themes of the 27th General Chapter and their implementation in the life and mission.
Yesterday, Thursday 30 March, the work centred on the subject of formation and its relationship with Youth Ministry. It was observed that the quality of the formation process depends to a large extent on the quality of the Youth Ministry process. Fr Ivo Coelho, Councillor General for Formation, gave an example of this: "If a young person grows in Youth Ministry, receives accompaniment and spiritual direction, he will certainly achieve Salesian formation in the pre-novitiate and novitiate, because he will have found his vocation.”
Another issue raised at the meeting was the importance of well-prepared formation personnel, because many young people today come from difficult backgrounds and wounded families. Salesians in formation need formators who know how to accompany them, respect their experiences, listen to them and help them.
The second part of the day was led by the Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family and finally a summary of the various themes was prepared for the Provinces. The Good Night was given by the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Francesco Cereda.
In the evening at the Don Bosco Fátima Events Centre, the Band from the Don Bosco School, Quintanilla delighted the guests with music and dance.
