Born on July 30, 1968, in San Luis de Potosí, Mexico, Fr. Orozco began his Salesian journey by entering the novitiate in Chula Vista and making his first profession on August 16, 1989, in Tlaquepaque. He later made his perpetual profession on September 10, 1995, and was ordained as a priest on March 15, 1997, in San Pedro de Tlaquepaque. His academic pursuits include a Baccalaureate in Theology from UPS Tlaquepaque (1997) and a specialization in Educational Psychology from the Normal Superior del Estado de Jalisco (1996).
Over the years, Fr. Orozco has played a pivotal role in various positions within the Salesian Congregation. From 1997 to 2004, he served as Pastoral Animator for Project Niño Don Bosco and as Provincial Delegate for the Preferential Option in the MEG Province. His leadership continued as Rector of the community at Project Niño Don Bosco (2004–2007) and later in Ciudad Juárez (2007–2010). From 2010 to 2014, he made significant contributions as Councillor Delegate for Youth Ministry, before assuming the role of Provincial of Mexico-Guadalajara (2014–2020).
Fluent in Spanish, Italian, English, and Portuguese, Fr. Orozco approaches his ministry with a dynamic and inclusive perspective. His re-election as Regional Councillor for Interamerica is a testament to his unwavering dedication and ability to inspire growth and transformation.
In this renewed mandate, Fr. Orozco remains committed to strengthening Salesian initiatives, fostering a deeper connection to Don Bosco’s vision, and nurturing the spiritual and personal growth of the youth in the Interamerica Region.
