India – SYMFEST 2024 concludes with Rich Cultural Tapestry, Faith, Leadership

07 January 2025

(ANS – Tirupattur) – The South Asian Salesian Youth Movement Fest (SYMFEST 2024) concluded with a celebration embodying unity, faith, and youth leadership. Hosted at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, the final day of this transformative event profoundly reflected the values and mission of the Salesian community, leaving participants inspired and renewed.

The day was marked by a collective spirit of gratitude and hope as the youth and leaders came together to celebrate the journey of the past few days. The gathering began with a call to reflect on the achievements of SYMFEST 2024 and to look forward with a commitment to the principles of the Salesian charism.

The cultural vibrancy of the day was brought to life through artistic performances, showcasing the diverse talents of the participants. These performances were symbols of unity, not just acts of celebration, as they highlighted the rich cultural tapestry of the Salesian family across South Asia. The joy and enthusiasm of the performers resonated with the audience, creating a shared sense of pride and connection.

The SYM LEADS Stars of Hope Awards became a defining moment of the day. They recognized individuals from SDB Provinces and the FMA for their exceptional contributions to the youth movement and their communities. These awards celebrated the enduring values of service and leadership at the heart of the Salesian mission.

The Holy Mass, a sacred and unifying element of the fest, provided a moment of collective prayer and reflection. Presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Lawrence Pius DD, Bishop of Dharmapuri, the Mass reinforced the call for peace and harmony in the world. In his homily, Bishop Lawrence encouraged the youth to be agents of change, urging them to embody the virtues of faith, love, and unity daily.

As the final notes of the SYM Anthem echoed, there was a palpable sense of accomplishment and shared purpose. The anthem symbolized the collective dreams and aspirations of the Salesian Youth Movement, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who participated. The fest concluded with a renewed sense of mission as participants carried the event's spirit back to their communities, ready to inspire and lead.
