Rev. Fr Thomas Tran SDB opened the Christmas program with a prayer and emphasised in his opening address that Christmas embodies joy and hope, stating that joy when shared, really multiplies. Speaking on the occasion, Rev Fr Albert SDB, the principal of Don Bosco Technical School reminded everyone that Jesus, who came as a vulnerable child, resides among the poor and humble. The choice to celebrate with children reflects the innocence and harmony they embody. He further said that this gathering was a special prelude to Christmas Eve, uniting individuals beyond distinctions of caste and religion, as all are children of God called to promote peace and harmony in our lives and in the community we live.
The event catered to around 200 children from various communities previously visited by Team Bosco Food. The atmosphere was filled with joy and confidence, as the children radiated happiness. The day included sports and games, with prizes awarded to the winners. Traditional Liberian cuisine and personal Christmas gifts were distributed, creating an atmosphere of delight and warmth. The gentle and loving smiles on the faces of all participants were a testament to the event's success.
As the day came to a close, it was clear that this Christmas celebration was not just an event; it was a reaffirmation of hope, community, and love shared among all those present. With the spirit of Christmas alive in the hearts of many, the event served as a reminder that joy is most meaningful when it is shared, echoing the true message of the season.
