Fr Ngoboka began his itinerary in AON from Benin, the country that hosts the Provincial House, near Cotonou, and from there he began to visit the different Salesian works. In every house or presence he touched, he took the time to listen to members of local communities, lay collaborators and young people, to better understand the realities, challenges and aspirations that shape the Salesian commitment to the service of young people. From Benin he then continued to reach the Salesian places in Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea Conakry, the Gambia and finally Senegal.
His visit ended on 14 November with a significant meeting in Senegal, in the Salesian community in Dakar. Fr Ngoboka continued to give his support and accompaniment to the provincial community until 16 November, the day on which he had an online meeting with the Provincial Council, a key moment to evaluate the results of this mission and outline the prospects for the future of AON Province.
On Sunday, November 17, departing from Blaise Diagne airport in Dakar, the Extraordinary Visitor expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome and fraternal collaboration he benefited from throughout his stay in the Province. He also reiterated the Rector Major's appeal to continue to live and embody the charism of Don Bosco with dynamism and fidelity.
For the Salesians, the Salesian Family and the young people of AON, the Extraordinary Visitation was a privileged opportunity to rediscover the riches of the Salesian mission and to deepen the spiritual and pastoral unity of the Province, now determined more than ever to continue its commitment to the integral education of young people, especially the most vulnerable.
