On Sunday 10 November, Fr Romero arrived in Cuiabá for the Extraordinary Visitation to the Santo Antônio Institute located in Coxipó da Ponte. Welcomed by the Rector of the community, Fr Marcelo Fujimura together with the other members of the Salesian community, he immediately began conversations with the Salesians in the community.
On Monday, 11 November, the Regional Councillor met the students and teachers of the same institute; he then took part in a meeting with the young people of the school's pastoral groups; and during the visit he blessed the school's new reception area in a ceremony attended by students and staff. The day ended with the celebration of Mass, presided over by Fr Marcelo Fujimura, together with Fr André Mattner Neuhaus.
The stage in Cáceres began on Wednesday 13 November, with a welcome by the Rector of the Santa Maria Institute, Fr Lauro Takaki Shinohara, and an opening celebration. Afterwards, Fr Romero was welcomed by students at the entrance to the work and on the sports field, and after a time for initial greetings, he toured the institute's facilities, and met with the Pedagogical Director, Brother Antônio Teixeira, and the Educative and Pastoral Community (EPC). In the afternoon he celebrated Mass in the school chapel and, in the evening, attended the Parish Pastoral Council meeting at the Holy Trinity Parish.
The following day, Thursday 14 November, the day began with meditation, morning prayer and a welcome from students at the entrance and on the sports field. Fr Romero talked with the community director, Fr Lauro, and the parish priest, Fr Sandro Giancola. Also present at lunch were Bishop Jacy Diniz Rocha, Bishop of the Diocese of São Luíz de Cáceres, and Bishop José Vieira de Lima, Bishop Emeritus. In the afternoon the Regional Councillor spoke with two Salesian aspirants Lucas and Pedro, celebrated Mass in the institute's chapel, and ended the day with a convivial moment at the Salesian residence.
On Friday 15 November, Fr Romero began the day with meditation and morning praise, and then took part in the closing celebration of the Visitation at Cáceres in the chapel at the Santa Maria Institute. The programme concluded with lunch and greetings from the local community.
After taking part in some other appointments already scheduled for these days in different parts of South America, the Regional Councillor for America South Cone will conclude his Extraordinary Visitation to the BCG Province at the end of November.
