The initiative to be involved in the festival was motivated by Mr Ariel Acosta, Director of the Salesian House, who put the idea of the project to the communication team, made up of Hernán González and Sonia García. Acosta said ‘we wanted it to be an opportunity for involvement that generates experiences and content by and for young people’.
Urged on by this, the communication team launched the project with the support of teacher Gisela Marini and the members of the student ‘TrendBosco’ newspaper who took the opportunity to get involved in the production. The story was inspired by a kindergarten student who, after hearing her teacher talk about the environment, expressed her desire to ‘make the planet greener’. The idea was quickly enriched by her older brother and his friends, who explained to the little girl what it means to take care of the planet. Thus, the message of the short film was brought to life in a simple and moving storyline, reflecting the youngest children's views on climate change.
During the production, there was a spirit of companionship and enthusiasm that strengthened the team. The Salesian House provided the necessary resources and space to set the scenes and achieve the expected result. The short film was sent to the festival, represented by Thiago Apodaca, one of the young actors, accompanied by Alfonsina Marnetti, María Moyano, Camila Gutiérrez, Mateo Gómez, Juan Martín Ronchi and Josefina Páez.
Sonia García, the communications officer in the Salesian house, expressed the team's excitement: ‘During the filming we dreamed of winning the award, but we never imagined that we would make it to the final short film. When we were informed that the short film was being considered at the regional level, we were thrilled, and when we received the e-mail confirming the recognition, we were overjoyed.
The achievement was a source of pride for all the participants. The fact that everyone's efforts have been recognised fills us with satisfaction and emotion, and we are honoured to be able to take the name of Casa Don Bosco San Luis to an international level’, Sonia said.
The short film was presented at the School in an atmosphere of gratitude to all those who contributed to this production.
