Visit to the San Vincenzo Institute
Between Friday 26 September and Monday 30 September, the Regional Councillor visited the San Vincenzo Institute (ISV), where the Postnovitiate Curatorium is located. Here he was welcomed with the Rosary and offered the traditional "Salesian Goodnight", a moment of reflection typical of Salesian communities. Over the following three days, the Councillor had individual meetings with 26 Salesians and members of the Salesian Cooperators group. In addition, he participated in moments of community and on Sunday he presided at Mass in the chapel of St Francis de Sales, concluding the visit with the reading of the official minutes, containing suggestions and guidelines for the strengthening of the Salesian mission in the ISV.
Visit to the Don Bosco School in Campo Grande
On Monday 30 September, Fr Romero was welcomed by the Salesian community of the Don Bosco College in Campo Grande. The next day, he began a series of one-on-one meetings with the Salesians at the house. In the afternoon, accompanied by the parish priest of the St John Bosco parish, Fr José Marcos, he visited the parish seat and the social works connected to it. The visit ended with the celebration of Mass in the Don Bosco Chapel, on Wednesday 2 October, in the presence of Salesians, members of the various groups of the Salesian Family, such as Salesian Cooperators and the Association of Mary Help of Christians, as well as the faithful of the community.
Visit to the Salesian community of Mary Help of Christians
On 3 and 4 October, the Regional Councillor visited the Salesian community of Mary Help of Christians, which includes the Saint Paul VI social work and the Mary Help of Christians Parish. Fr Romero was welcomed by the Rector of the community, Fr Pedro Pereira Borges, and began conversations with the Salesians in the house. During the visit, he also met with the Parish Pastoral Council and celebrated a Mass in the parish church, with the participation of the faithful and members of the Salesian Family. On the last day, he met the elderly Salesians and shared his impressions of the visit, concluding with the celebration of Mass in the community chapel.
