Belgium – “Ensuring respect for human rights in collaboration with the private sector”

26 March 2024

(ANS – Brussels) – Don Bosco International is organising its upcoming event on “Ensuring respect for human rights in collaboration with the private sector”, hosted by MEP Ibán García del Blanco (S&D) on 2 April 2024 (15:30-17:00 CEST) at the European Parliament and online.

The event aims to promote a constructive dialogue on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence, based on Salesian best practices involving NGOs, European companies, and Salesian Vocational Educational Training (VET) centres in third countries.

The world is facing a major challenge: finding political, economic, and social solutions to rising inequality, climate change, digital transition, and the need to train skilled people for the new job market. Promoting sustainable supply chains and inclusive training methods have taken on a new momentum for guaranteeing human rights, particularly children and youth rights.

Civil society actors can be key in bridging the needs of the private sector and the demands of local realities, facilitating the implementation of a corporate social responsibility strategy able to ensure the respect for human rights in Europe and beyond.

On the initiative of MEP García del Blanco (S&D), Don Bosco International organised this event in collaboration with the Salesian Youth Ministry Department, DB Tech Europe, Red América Social Salesiana (RASS), Misiones Salesianas, Don Bosco Mondo, VIA Don Bosco, ZwickRoell and Puratos.
