The event was accompanied by the celebration of the Youth Forum on the Environment, with the active participation of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime who, together with the participants in the Sustainable Latin America meeting, reflected on the collective commitment to the conservation of the environment and the sustainable future of the community.
Subsequently, in the afternoon, the feast for the St John Bosco Province of the Antilles (ANT) moved to the St John Bosco parish in Santo Domingo. On this occasion, all the groups belonging to the Salesian Family in the country gathered to celebrate the Eucharist and express their gratitude to the Salesian Cardinal for his visit. During the ceremony, they had the opportunity to wish him success in his new mission and to share moments of reflection and fraternity.
For his part, Fr José Pastor Ramírez, Provincial of ANT, gave the 10th Successor of Don Bosco a copy of the book La fuerza de un charisma which collects the biographies of the lay people who welcomed, loved and promoted the Salesian mission in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico – the three countries that make up the territory of the Province.
In his Animation Visit to the Salesians and the Salesian Family in ANT, the presence of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime left an indelible mark, not only through concrete actions such as the planting of trees, but also and above all through the closeness and humanity shown by the Rector Major towards everyone, which particularly touched the young people he met.
