Mindtree Foundation is the CSR wing of LTI Mindtree. The foundation’s social development initiatives focus on activities in the areas of environment, education, empowerment, and health and nutrition. This partnership envisages training of 400 youth in West Bengal, Meghalaya, Arunachal, Mizoram and Assam.
Speaking on the occasion, Father Joseph Pauria, Provincial, commented on the project name ‘Skills for Dignity’ and encouraged all to work towards imparting and acquiring the skills needed in the best way possible so that it can bring dignity to them through employment post-training. Mr Deepak Prabhu Matti, CSR Head, LTI Mindtree, informed everyone present about the commitment of Mindtree as a company and its 90000 employees to contribute to the betterment of society through CSR activities. He invited the nearly 40 newly inducted trainees to the best of the opportunity. Mr Deepak wished they would be engaged in designing and creating the best spaces for offices or homes by taking training in modular furniture and carpentry. He also invited them to give back to the people through their talent and skills when they are in a position with their career and earning.
Don Bosco Tech staff, Kolkata, coordinated the event. The presence of many students and staff from the ITI added colour to the occasion, hoping that this partnership enhances the lives of the youth through further collaboration and engagement. Father V T Jose, the Rector of Don Bosco Institution, welcomed the gathering and Father Amit Xess, the Vice Principal, expressed thanks at the end of the function.
