Literally from the four corners of the globe – from Spain, Italy, Poland, but also Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, the Dominican Republic, Australia, Bolivia, China and South Korea… and many more – young people have already signed up to affirm their desire to participate in the Pope's greatest encounter with young people, and to do so according to the charism of Don Bosco.
With the WYD DON BOSCO 23 enrolment phase now complete, the organisation is now completing all preparations to adequately accommodate the more than 7,500 young people enrolled.
From 26 to 31 July, some of the pilgrims will participate in the “Days in the Dioceses” initiative and will stay in the dioceses of Aveiro, Algarve, Braga, Évora and Castelo Branco, in addition to Porto diocese which was the most requested by the young people from the SYM, with as many as six groups that have chosen it as a destination.
The Salesian presences in the dioceses of Lisbon and Setúbal, together with the Salesian host families, will have the opportunity and the grace to welcome all the pilgrims of the Salesian Youth Movement between 1 and 6 August, in an experience that will certainly remain etched in the memory of everyone - young and not so young.
WYD DON BOSCO 23 is the name of the Salesian Youth Movement organisation responsible for the convocation and participation of young people from different Salesian backgrounds around the world in the WYD Lisbon 2023, to make it live according to the charism of Don Bosco. WYD DON BOSCO 23 seeks to motivate young people to walk this path as a pilgrimage that strengthens their faith and challenges other young people farther from the faith to know and recognise the living Christ.
