Through an intensive immersive program, participants were able to take part in sessions and exchanges that contributed to animation, updating, and networking. Of all this, Fr. Lozano especially recalled the experience of the charism of familiarity. "We experienced an academic, university and, above all, Salesian family environment. It was a moment of renewal that opened our horizons, knowing that we have a common horizon. It is important to reflect on how we are shaping the future of our institutions."
The event’s objective was to ensure a significant Salesian presence in each institution, quantitatively and qualitatively, composed of religious and lay people capable of guiding and animating a valid project on the cultural, scientific, and educational-pastoral levels. "We want to propose knowledge, criteria, and basic tools that will enable us to lead and manage institutions of higher education with a Catholic and Salesian identity, as well as strengthen cooperative relationships as an IUS network through the exchange of leadership and management experiences," Fr. Lozano further added.
Debates and discussions during this week of formation covered topics such as Salesian identity, pastoral presence in universities, management and leadership challenges, historical processes that are affecting higher education, and strengthening the IUS network.
