The youths’ contribution was notably visible throughout the gathering. The tenets of Salesian Youth Movement were shared with all through the key input sessions. The spirit of sharing of one’s lived experiences at Don Bosco centres, which was the real origin of SYM, was emphasized. The youths that gathered on this occasion understood this and mingled with those of other centres whenever they got a chance. A session on the challenges of today’s world and its possible solutions revealed our youth’s efforts undertaken already in tackling the challenges. Their commitment to taking the movement forward in their own centres was also discussed and few possible ways were suggested. The youth Spirituality called for by the movement was also shared with the youth, who participated in the Eucharist and in other moments of prayer.
The meeting was well planned by the organizing team consisting of Bro. Philip and Frs. Stephen Biswakarma and Gyan Kujur together with the collaboration of the FMA Sisters on behalf of the Nepal Coordination. The Salesians and FMAs of Kathmandu valley were giving prompt and adequate accompaniment to the participating youth. This program was financially supported by JEW Austria.
The songs and partygames and the campfire enthralled the youth and facilitated their uninhibited and whole-hearted participation.
