The meeting was held at "Don Bosco" School in Panbazar district, Guwahati, and was opened by Fr. Joseph Mung, Vice Principal of the school, who welcomed the participants and the authorities who accepted the invitation. Fr. Januarius Sangma, Provincial Superior of the "Mary Help of Christians" Province of Guwahati, also took part in the initiative, expressing his happiness to see so many young people gathered to pay homage to Don Bosco and to commemorate 100 years of Salesian presence in Northeast India. In addition to the Provincial, the Vice Provincial, Fr. Joseph Teron, and the Provincial Economer, Fr. Benny P. Basil, were present.
For the 125 students involved in this event, it was a time of celebration and interaction, as well as an opportunity to showcase their skills in singing, dancing, drawing, music, writing, and oratory arts. It was also a time of learning and growth for boys and girls from diverse backgrounds such as rural, semi-rural, suburban, and urban.
The event was enriching and educational, as emphasized by the participants and the teachers who accompanied the students.
At the end of the competitions, the Provincial Economer presented prizes and certificates to the winners. "Don Bosco" High School was the overall winner of the entire event and took home the trophy. In his speech, Fr. Basil remarked on the importance of interactions and sharing for the growth of students in a world that is getting lost in digital. He also praised the work of DBSEM for organizing and executing the day's program.
