An image of Blessed Zatti, who is close to canonization, was donated to the home so that he can protect the nurses' work with his presence. Present at the ceremony were the director of the "Casa de la Bondad," Ms. Mónica Brunetto, the national volunteer training manager, María Cristina Martínez, the volunteers, nurses and residents of the house, accompanied by the Salesian coadjutors, Br. José Sobrero, ARN Provincial Secretary, and Br. Máximo Herrera, missionary in Palebek (Uganda). Fr. Adrián Botta, SDB, Rector of the Pio XI Salesian Work in Córdoba, presided over the Eucharist.
The event was also attended by some family members of Blessed Artemide Zatti: great-grandson Ricardo Zatti and great-great-grandson Adrián Zatti, who enlivened the meeting by sharing anecdotes and family stories.
The initiative to choose Artemide Zatti as Patron of the "Casa de la Bondad" was promoted by the same people who animate this important service in the world of health. The "Manos Abiertas" Foundation was born in 1992 with a group of volunteers led by Jesuit Father Ángel Rossi, now Archbishop of Córdoba. Currently, they work in 11 Argentine cities and are dedicated to providing a concrete response to those who are alone facing vulnerable situations.
More information about the Foundation is available on its website, which can be reached from the following link.
