The Rector Major, who these days has been participating in the work of the World Council of the Salesian Family at Valdocco, already today (May 23) will preside over the liturgy of First Vespers in the basilica (at 7 p.m., UTC+2) - part of a journey leading up to the Feast that includes seven Eucharistic Celebrations for today alone, the afternoon Rosary, an evening vigil and an entire night of Eucharistic Adoration that will animate faithful and pilgrims until dawn tomorrow.
For tomorrow (May 24), instead, and thinking above all about fostering global participation in the celebration from all over the world, a "digital marathon" is planned, which will allow everyone to watch the main events.
From 5 p.m. and until the end of the day, ANS, thanks to its collaboration with "IME COMMUNICATION," will follow and broadcast live - in five languages (Italian, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese) - on the ANS Facebook Page:
- links and special interviews curated from the Turin studio by Fr Moreno Filipetto, ICP's Social Communication Delegate;
- at 6:30 pm, the Mass in the Basilica presided by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime;
- from 8:30 pm, the Procession of Mary Help of Christians through the streets of the neighborhood, presided over by Msgr. Cesare Nosiglia, Archbishop Emeritus of Turin.
Even in the waiting time between the end of the Mass and the beginning of the procession, Fr Filipetto and his guests will keep the faithful from all over the world company, accompanying them to live the Salesian Feast Day of Mary Help of Christians in an atmosphere of devotion and joy.
Also being broadcast, for Italian viewers:
- the 8:30 a.m. Mass, presided over by Fr. Leonardo Mancini, Superior of the Salesians of Piedmont-Aosta Valley and Lithuania (ICP), will be videotaped and will go live on the TV2000 and RETE7 networks, as well as on the Basilica's YouTube channel.
- the 11 a.m. Mass, presided over by Msgr. Gabriele Mana, Bishop Emeritus of Biella, will go live on Telepace.
- and the Mass of the Rector Major (at 6:30 p.m.) and the Procession of Mary Help of Christians (from 8:30 p.m.) will also be broadcast live on Telepace and Rete7.
