Highlights of this new issue are the events experienced in Africa-Madagascar by the Rector Major, including the Spiritual Exercises with the Region’s Provincial Councils and the animation visits to the Salesian presences in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, in Tropical Equatorial Africa; also, special reports concerning the war in Ukraine: a focus on what the Sons of Don Bosco are doing in Ukraine itself, and what is happening thanks to international Salesian solidarity in the countries of first reception of the Ukrainian refugees.
This new feature column intends to give space to brief in-depth analyses capable of presenting, with the power of moving images and a quality narrative, the commitment of the Salesians throughout the world, both in its more ordinary and in its extraordinary forms.
The section’s layout also intends to give an account of the vastness and the cultural and geographical variety of the Congregation. This is why we always try to spotlight the contributions coming from the Salesian Regions. This approach is also an opportunity for collaboration: in fact, each Province is hereby invited to make good quality videos of the most important events that take place within it and to share them with ANS by writing to: This email address is being protected from spambots. In this way, and also thanks to the production and broadcast of ANS News Video in the six most widely spoken languages of the Congregation (Italian, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Polish), mutual knowledge among the Provinces and the realities of the Salesian Family shall be fostered and, consequently, also the adoption of good practices and innovations.
In addition, with the close collaboration of the Social Communication Offices scattered throughout the Salesian world, it shall also be possible in the future to produce ad hoc reports on a specific Province or project, or activity of particular importance... The possibilities are endless, it is only a matter of "besides doing good", "making known the good that is being done", as often reiterated by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime.
March's "ANS News Video" can be viewed on the respective ANSChannel language channels and also accessed directly on the ANS website homepage.
