Equatorial Guinea – Second day of the presence of the Rector Major

(ANS - Bata) – The second day of the presence of the Rector Major in the Equatorial Guinea witnessed fantastic vibes among the young people and the entire Salesian Family.

In the morning of Saturday 26 March, the Rector Majeur presided over the meeting in the parish community of Micomeseng. This Eucharistic celebration that followed at 8.30 am saw the participation of all groups and movements of the parish. While addressing the crowd, the Rector Major echoed the words of Don Bosco to the young people: “it is enough that you are young for me to love you”. He urged  the parish community to take into account the reality of young people, and do their best to nurture them as good citizens and children of God.

After the meeting, the Rector Major proceeded towards the city of Bata. At about 12.30 pm a solemn reception was organized for him as he arrived at the Salesian Work of Bata, where he was welcomed by the members of the Salesian community, the young people and the entire Salesian family. It was a moment of great joy and fraternity.

The meeting with the young people of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), ushered in lot of enthusiasm on the part of the young people. The animators shared their many experiences, activities and initiatives of the year. The Rector Major listen to them attentively, interacted with them and also shared his impressions. The young people felt so much encouraged and inspired as they were able to share their thoughts and interact with the Rector Major.

The day concluded with the vespers with the community and the Good Night by the Rector Major.
