Žilina, Slovakia - June 26, 2016 - The Salesians of Slovakia, a small country with a big missionary heart, are responsible for some significant outposts, such as those in Siberia and Azerbaijan. Their spirit is shared by the laity. For more than ten years young people from the Salesian organization "SAVIO" have been going abroad for missionary volunteer experiences. On Sunday 26 June, at Žilina, after careful discernment ten young people received the missionary cross and will go to work in Angola, Azerbaijan, Mexico and Kenya and among the Roma in Slovakia. Apart from these, another 50 young Slovaks will go this summer on a mission to Ukraine and 20 others will be working with the Roma community in Slovakia.

Meruri, Brazil - June 2016 - In June, some young people from the Salesian parish of "São Gonçalo" went on a missionary visit to Meruri, to the Salesian mission among the ethnic Bororo Indians. The young people were able to learn the story of the martyrs of Meruri, Fr Rodolfo Lunkenbein, SDB, and Simão Cristino Koge Ekudugodu, himself a Bororo. They went through the Holy Door for the Jubilee of Mercy, and carried out various social activities with the indigenous children and young people.

Muhazi, Rwanda - June 2016 - To celebrate World Day of the African Child on Saturday 18 June, the Salesian centre at Muhazi hosted an event to reflect on youth, entitled "Children’s right to participation: that children be seen and heard."  At the event there were numerous artistic performances by young people.  It was attended by about 600 children and teenagers, in addition to the Provincial of the Africa Great Lakes Vice-Province, Fr Camiel Swertvagher, and the ambassadors of Belgium and the European Union in Rwanda.

Manila, Philippines - June 2016 - Jayson Supan is a 27 year old Filipino engineer who has been working for the past six years at the Porsche Centre at Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. As a result of his work he was able to buy a new home for his family in Manila, where previously he lived in a small hut. Jayson is one of the beneficiaries of the "Porsche Centre for Recruitment and Training in Asia" (PCRTA), a joint project between the automotive company and the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Manila. Since 2017 the PCRTA has substantially increased the scope of its activities, and the number of students accepted each year has grown from 32 to 145.
