Macas, Ecuador - November 2016 - In October, the Communication and Journalism Club of the "Fiscomisional Don Bosco" school in Macas, launched a radio programme at the Catholic cultural station "Voz del Upano", with news, music, interviews, chronicles and reports, to promote Salesian activities in the area. The school has 30 students aged between 12 and 17.  Other initiatives planned for the future include creating a web radio, magazine, radio and television programmes and conferences. In the picture: Msgr. Néstor Montesdeoca Becerra SDB, Vicar Apostolic of Méndez, together with the student clubs.

Bogotá, Colombia - November 2016 - The Diaconate Ordination of five Salesians of the Provinces of Bolivia and Colombia-Medellín took place on 12 November at the Shrine of Our Lady of Carmen.  The new deacons areBuenaventura Almanza (BOL), Vladimir Estrada (BOL), Saín Zenteno (BOL), Johny Arias (COM) and Andrés Pernett (COM). The celebration was presided over by Bishop Hector Julio Lopez Hurtado SDB of Girardot.

Rome, Italy - November 2016 - On 12 November, the SDB and FMA participants in the Missionary Course at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS), organized by the Missions Department, visited the Generalate of the Salesians. Here they met Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General of the Salesian Family, who gave a talk on the fruits of holiness in the Salesian Family. They then visited the central archives, the library and the office of the Procurator General. The morning ended with Mass celebrated by Fr Francesco Cereda, Vicar of the Rector Major.
