Rango, Rwanda - October 2016 - From 24 to 30 October, the Salesian parish of Rango in the Africa Great Lakes Vice-Province (AGL) organized a week of "mercy mission". Priests and catechists, accompanied by several Christian faithful visited some Christian families among the poorest and most vulnerable in the area, who were in need of spiritual and material help.

Krakow, Poland - October 2016 - Fr Adam Parszywka SDB, director of the Salesian Missionary Volunteer movement "Młodzi Światu", will next year become Provincial of the Province of Krakow (PLS). Recently he received special recognition from the "Dziennik Polski" newspaper for his work as Communications Director at WYD. Fr Parszywka received this award during a solemn gala in the Archbishop's Palace in Krakow, with the citation: "Among the many priests and consecrated persons involved in the organization of World Youth Day there was one priest that, thanks to him, at the end of July, the city of Krakow was the talk of most countries of the world. He was Fr Adam Parszywka, Communications Director of the World Youth Day Organizing Committee."
