Mumbai, India – On July 3rd, in Chinchwad, the main manufacturer of luxurious car in India, Mercedes-Benz India, confirmed its agreement to strengthen the development of technical skills among the youth who wish to follow a career in automobile industry, with the inauguration of the “Advanced Auto Body Repair Formation Center” in association with Don Bosco Chinchwad. The center has been inaugurated by SeRoland Folger, Director General of Mercedes-Benz India and by Fr. Godfrey D'Souza, Salesian Provincial of Mumbai. Santosh Iyer, vice-president for after-sale and Formation, Mercedes-Benz India, and Fr. Corils Gonsalves, Rector of Don Bosco Technical School, were also present at the ceremony.
Colombia, Bogota – August 2016 – On August 1st, the Salesian Post-novitiate “Blessed Philip Rinaldi” did the official launching of “on line” radio “Rinaldi stereo”. With the presence of the Rector, Fr. Vidal Niebles, S.D.B., there was the official launching with the presentation of a formative and juvenile programme in keeping with our mission as Salesians. Spain, Madrid – August 2016 – A group of 30 Salesians from Spain, 5 Salesians from the Province of “Mary Help of Christians” (SMX) and 25 from the Province of ”San Jago Mayor” (SSM) travel to the Holy Land. The trip has a religious and a cultural aim, with the visit to Sanctuaries, archaeological places, and churches that remind us of the presence of the Church in these places through the Christian communities that have kept the memory of faith.
Salesian schools in Paraguay began their school activities in August with the celebration of St John Bosco to mark the anniversary of his birth. It is an opportunity to raise awareness of the saint of youth and to present his life as a witness to love of God.
