Quito, Ecuador - November 2024 - The Curatorium of the International Salesian St Francis of Assisi postnovitiate in Quito was held on 23 November. At the meeting were Fr Marcelo Farfán, Superior of the Province of Ecuador (ECU); Fr Líder Justiniano, Superior of the Province of Bolivia (BOL); Fr Juan Pablo Alcas, Superior of the Province of Peru (PER), the formation team and young Salesians in formation. The objective of the Curatorium is to accompany the interprovincial postnovitiate formation experience in an approach of shared responsibility in order to evaluate, offer guidance and ensure the conditions and means to guarantee the complete achievement of this formation phase.

Sao Paulo, Brazil - November 2024 - The diaconate ordination of young Salesians Pedro Francisco Xavier Neto, from the Salesian Province of Recife, Brazil (BRE), and Castelo José Alberto Faustino, from the Mozambique Vice-Province (MOZ), took place on Saturday 23 November in the St John Bosco parish in Alto da Lapa, in the State of Sao Paulo,. The celebration was presided over by Bishop Hilário Moser, SDB, Bishop Emeritus of Tubarão, in the presence of Fr Francisco Inácio, BRE Provincial, Fr Alexandre Oliveira, Provincial of São Paulo Brazil (BSP), Salesians, family members and friends of the new deacons from various locations. In addition to the presence of the friends from the Salesian communities where the new deacons have already served, members of the Salesian community of São Carlos and the BRE Provincial Prenovices also attended.

Bogotá, Colombia - November 2024 - On 26 November, at the Child Jesus Salesian Work, a consultation was held to elect the new Superior of the Saint Peter Claver Province of Bogotá Colombia (COB). The consultation was guided by Fr Hugo Orozco, Councillor for the Interamerica Region, and brought together all the Salesians in COB Province in an atmosphere of reflection, prayer and discernment.

Shillong, India – November 2024 – In view of the centenary of the birth of Quantum Mechanics, which will be celebrated in 2025, an International Conference on this physical theory that studies atomic and subatomic phenomena in the infinitely small was organised on 21 and 22 November at St Anthony's College in Shillong. The event, organised in collaboration with the Meghalaya National Institute of Technology (NIT Meghalaya), was opened by Fr Arcadius Puwein, Principal of St Anthony's College, who greeted the distinguished guests and underlined the importance of the Conference. The students of the Department of Physics enriched the event with their presentations. The Director of NIT Meghalaya delivered the inaugural speech underlining the fundamental role of Quantum Mechanics in scientific progress. Mr Dhruv Agarwal's prelude encapsulated the essence of the conference, marking a century of studies, research and success in the field of Quantum Mechanics. The event was sponsored by "Elsevier" a scientific journal, the State Council for Science and Technology, the Government of Meghalaya, the Engineering and Scientific Research Board, the Department of Science and Technology and the Government of India.
