Ayagualo, El Salvador - June 2024 - The Provincial Chapter of the Divine Saviour Province of Central America (CAM) concluded on Saturday, 1 June, at the Sacred Heart retreat house. During five consecutive days of communion and work, the 43 Chapter members opened themselves to the action of the Holy Spirit. As a Provincial community, they have focused on a moment of reflection that now leads them to action. On this occasion, the beginning of the Chapter was marked by the conclusion of the Extraordinary Visitation by Fr Walter Jara, SDB, who presented his conclusions and recommendations to the entire assembly after visiting all the Salesian works in the CAM Province. On the second day, Fr Julio Navarro, CAM Provincial, presented his report on the state of the Province, highlighting strengths and challenges. Participants then had the opportunity to put questions to the provincial councillors and delegates of each sector to explore some aspects of the report. In the following sessions, we worked as a group around the three core areas of GC29 and legal issues. The basis of this work was the summary of the work previously carried out in all the communities of the province. The reflections were then reviewed and corrected in plenary session, ensuring that each point was discussed and agreed upon. Chapter members also worked on updating the provincial directory and elected the delegate of the CAM Province to the GC29 Fr Juan Gabriel Romero, and Salesian Brother Mario Olmos as substitute. The CAM Superior, Fr Julio Navarro, presided over the Eucharist that concluded the Provincial Chapter, in which he reiterated to the participants the importance of being passionate about Christ and dedicated to young people.
