Hyderabad, India - February 2016 - A meeting of the Provincial Economers of the South Asia Region took place from 21 to 23 February, in the Province of Hyderabad. It was led by Fr Piotr Gozdalski and Fabio Buconi from the Economer General’s office. During the opening session, the Provincial of Hyderabad, Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, stressed the importance of transparency and the ability to guide the Province efficiently and effectively. Various issues were discussed including compliance with tax laws, collaboration and relationship with the Economer General’s office, strengthening collaboration with the Mission office in New Delhi, improving financial management through a common accounting software package - Acme ERP - and the strengthening of financial management networks in the region.  

Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica - February 2016 - On 20 and 21 February the Youth in the Spirit Encounter Programme conducted spiritual experience no. 20 which was attended by 48 young people. Over a period of 14 years, this Programme has been attended by over a thousand young people.  

Araçatuba, Brasile – febbraio 2016 – Durante la Visita di Animazione all’Ispettoria di Campo Grande (BCG), don Natale Vitali, Consigliere per la Regione America Cono Sud, alla presenza di varie autorità civili e religiose, ha presieduto l’inaugurazione di nuove aule e l’apertura dell’Anno Accademico dell’Università Salesiana di Araçatuba. L’ateneo educa circa 8.000 giovani, è l’università salesiana con la miglior valutazione in Brasile, e ha ottenuto la possibilità di aprire un corso di Medicina per il progetto presentato e la qualità dell’educazione.
