Tokyo, Japan - June 2018 - On June 17, the Provincial Day of the Salesians of Japan (GIA) was celebrated with 50 participants from 14 communities. Fr Gaetano Compri, vice postulator of the cause of Fr. Vincenzo Cimatti, spoke on Salesian Holiness, while Fr. Shijiro Urata, of the Commission for Permanent Formation, presented the just-published translation in Japanese of the biographies of three young men of the Don Bosco Oratory: Domenico Savio, Michele Magone and Francesco Besucco. The festival culminated with the Eucharist and celebrations of the anniversaries of the Salesian ordinations and professions. The following day the directors' meeting and consultations took place for the new Provincial, before the Regional Councilor for East Asia-Oceania, Fr Václav Klement.
