Myanmar - Meeting of Provincial Delegates for Formation of East Asia-Oceania Region
Anisakan, Myanmar - November 2017 - From 12 to 17 November, the Provincial Delegates for Formation of the East Asia-Oceania Region meet. All the representatives of the various Provinces and Vice Provinces, along with the General Councilor for Education, Fr Ivo Coelho, the Regional Coordinator, Salesian Coadjutor Raymond Callo, and the Provincials Fr Lanfranco Fedrigotti (CIN) and Fr Paul Bicomong (FIN). Among the main topics addressed are: formative impact in perspectives on the Congregation as shared by the Rector Major this year; the latest documents of the Church, "The gift of priestly vocation", and "For new wine, new wineskins"; group work on Salesian identity consecrated in the presbyterial form; "Formation is Permanent" (ACG 425); conclusions of Regional Congress of Salesian Laity and formation of shared mission with lay persons. Anisakan is the aspirantate from which the Salesian vocational journey of almost all Myanmar confreres began, including Salesian Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, who will welcome Pope Francis on a visit to Myanmar from 27 to 30 November.
