India - North Bengal celebrates Salesian Family Day

Members of the Salesian Family from the North Bengal area celebrated their annual Salesian Family Day on 23 January 2025, a national holiday celebrating the birthday of freedom fighter and national hero Subhash Chandra Bose. The event, held at the Salesian College Autonomous Siliguri, was attended by about 70 members from the North Bengal area, including Salesians (37), FMA (8), Salesian Cooperators (14), Sisters of Mary Immaculate (4), as well as Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (7) from North Bengal, Bihar, Sikkim and Nepal. The Vicar of the Province of Calcutta, India (INC), Fr Sunil Kerketta, presented Strenna 2025 "Anchored in hope, pilgrims with young people" and the theme of the Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of hope. After a group sharing session between a mixed group of participants, members celebrated the Holy Eucharist in the chapel at the college, presided over by Fr Babu Joseph.
