Nigeria – Young people record an inspiring song, "Pilgrims of Hope"
Iju, Nigeria – January 2025 – From 17 and 19 January, young people from various Salesian communities in Nigeria (Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode, Akure, Ondo and Lagos) gathered at the Art43 Media Studio, located in the Headquarters of the Africa Nigeria Niger Salesian Province (ANN) in Iju, Lagos. In an extraordinary undertaking of unwavering commitment and collaboration, the young people spent less than 48 hours recording a musical masterpiece entitled "Pilgrims of Hope". This song reflects the central theme of the Strenna for 2025: “Anchored in hope, pilgrims with young people”. The song serves as a source of inspiration, encouraging young people to persevere and thrive through the challenges and trials of life. By combining meaningful lyrics with powerful melodies, the youth team successfully captured the spirit of resilience and optimism central to the Salesian mission. This extraordinary effort underscores the potential of young minds united by a shared vision and purpose. It is a testament to their dedication in spreading messages of hope and positivity to young people facing various challenges in life. The Salesians of Don Bosco in ANN Province continue to empower young people, promoting creativity, teamwork and faith, while guiding them to become agents of change and hope in a complex world.
