South Korea – Blessing of the new community builidng in Jeonglim-dong
Daejeon, South Korea – January 2025 – “New wine must be put into new wineskins. To choose a new wineskin is to exercise the courage to overcome comfort.". The new building of the Jeonglim-dong community in Daejeon was blessed with these words during the homily by Fr Marcello Baek, Superior of the Salesian Korean Holy Martyrs' Province of South Korea (KOR) . The Mass, celebrated on the morning of 20 January, was attended by over 60 people, including Salesians of Don Bosco, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Salesian Cooperators, young people and benefactors. The building was built in 1992, but over the years it had deteriorated considerably. So last summer the restoration work began and in January 2025 the new building was finally blessed. The building currently houses eight Salesians, including two novices and the Novice Director, and is a true religious house where the whole community lives, prays and works together.
