Italy – Office of Oratories and Parishes, planning meeting and farewell to Fr Giovanni D’Andrea
Rome, Italy – January 2025 – The Oratories and Parishes Office met on 8 January at the National Headquarters in Rome, an important opportunity to reflect on the work carried out and plan for the future. The day was dedicated to two main themes. The first was the work on the summary text of the 2023 Parish Seminar: it is a document that will be presented at the Youth Ministry Assembly of the Conference of Salesian Provinces of Italy (CISI) on Saturday 11 January by Fr Alberto Goia. The second theme concerned Processes of Education to the Faith. During the discussion, the importance of focusing on an approach that helps local communities to design tailored faith paths emerged, rather than proposing a single national model. This work represents a step forward to support a more concrete and effective ministry. To deepen the reflection, a meeting with Prof. Michal Vojtàš is scheduled for next May. The meeting ended with thanks to Fr Giovanni D’Andrea, who has led the Office with dedication in recent years as the Provincial responsible for the matter within the CISI, and who will be replaced by Fr Domenico Saraniti.
