Vietnam – Animation visit by Raymond Callo, SDB, to the formation communities in the Salesian Province of Vietnam

Vietnam – November 2024 - From 31 October to 6 November, Salesian Brother Raymond Callo, from the Formation Sector at Salesian Headquarters in Rome, made his animation visit to the different formation communities in the Salesian Province of Vietnam. The visit was carried out on behalf of the General Councillor for Formation, Fr Ivo Coelho. Bro. Callo was able to visit the prenovitiate community in Cau Bong, the novitiate community in Bathon, the postnovitiate community in Da Lat, the formation community for the specific formation of clerics in Xuan Hiep, as well as some practical trainees in Tan Ha. There were always two moments of animation, a separate meeting with the formation team and those in initial formation. Raymond Callo thanked the formators on behalf of the Rector Major for the ministry of formation they are rendering to the candidates for Salesian life and to the confreres in initial formation. He also stressed the need for the formation of formators and teachers, both for their personal growth and for their ministry in formation. For those who are in initial formation, Raymond Callo stressed the importance of community and personal accompaniment in their formative growth according to the objectives of each phase of formation, also stating that in general there is a good Salesian Family atmosphere in the different formation communities, which is very important to create an environment conducive to formation.
