Brazil – The 32nd Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Province of Sao Paolo
Sao Paolo, Brazil – May 2024 – Salesians in the Mary Help of Christians Province of Sao Paolo Brazil (BSP) met from 26 to 29 May, to take part in the 32nd Provincial Chapter, a crucial opportunity to reflect on fundamental issues, make strategy and make significant decisions in view of the 29th General Chapter (GC29). The theme chosen is inspired by GC29's "Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people. Living our Salesian vocation faithfully and prophetically.“ The choice of themes reflects the centrality of Jesus Christ in the Salesian mission and underlines the importance of service to young people, which is at the heart of the Salesian vocation. The Provincial Chapter was opened by the welcome address from Vice-Provincial Fr Mauricio Tadeu Miranda, followed by Fr Alexandre Luis de Oliveira, BSP Provincial, who illustrated a report on the status of the Province. After days of meeting, dialogue and reflection around the three core areas of the GC29, the Chapter elected Fr Ronaldo Zacharias as delegate to the GC29 and Fr Jeferson Luiz Pereira da Silva as substitute.
