Ayagualo, El Salvador - May 2024 – The Provincial Chapter of the Salesians from the Divine Saviour Province of Central America (CAM)is being held from 27 May to1  June, focused on "Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people". The Chapter began on Monday 27 May, with the Eucharist celebrated by Fr Walter Jara, Extraordinary Visitor, who concluded his visitation on the same day. The opening session was chaired by Fr Julio Navarro, CAM Provincial, and Fr Juan Gabriel Romero, Moderator. In his opening message Fr Navarro quoted the words of the Rector Major: "Today our world, the Church and young people together with their families need us as yesterday to continue living a path of fidelity to the Lord Jesus, they need us as significant and courageously prophetic people. Jesus' mission continues and becomes visible through us today.” Finally, he invited the participants to maintain an attitude of faith, synodality and unity. The Provincial Chapter aims to offer valuable contributions to the 29th General Chapter (GC29) that will take place in Valdocco in 2025. The participants in the Provincial Chapter are working on the three core areas proposed by GC29 to explore and reflect on the animation and governance of the Congregation, seeking to strengthen ties with the laity and the Salesian Family, and continue to work together for the well-being and future of young people. The 43 Chapter members will reflect and work throughout the week to comply with the program proposed by the Moderator.
